A New Culver's Could Be Coming to Spring, According to State Permit Filings
Culver's may soon be expanding its footprint in the Houston area.
According to a recently filed state construction permit, a new Culver's restaurant is planned for 18603 Kuykendahl Road in Spring. While the company has not officially announced the location, the permit indicates construction could begin this fall and be completed sometime next year.
Although plans can change before a project breaks ground, permit filings often provide one of the earliest signs that a new restaurant is on the way.
What the Permit Reveals
The filing identifies a proposed Culver's restaurant at the Kuykendahl Road address in Spring, with a construction timeline that points to work starting later this year and wrapping up in 2027.
At this stage, the project remains unconfirmed by Culver's, so details such as an official opening date, restaurant size, and amenities—including whether the location will feature a drive-thru—have not yet been announced.
Still, submitting construction permits is a significant step in the development process and often signals that planning is moving forward.
Why Spring?
Spring has experienced rapid residential and commercial growth over the past decade, making it an increasingly attractive destination for national restaurant chains.
The Kuykendahl Road corridor continues to see new retail, mixed-use developments, and dining options as more families move to the area. Adding another recognizable fast-casual brand would further expand the choices available to residents in Spring, Klein, Tomball, and nearby North Houston communities.
What Culver's Is Known For
Founded in Wisconsin, Culver's has built a loyal following across the country thanks to its made-to-order menu and signature Midwestern comfort food.
Popular menu items include:
-
ButterBurgers
-
Fresh frozen custard
-
Wisconsin cheese curds
-
Chicken sandwiches
-
North Atlantic cod dinners
-
Rotating Flavor of the Day frozen custard
Unlike many traditional fast-food restaurants, Culver's prepares many menu items to order, a feature that has helped the brand develop a dedicated customer base as it continues expanding across Texas.
More Restaurant Growth for Greater Houston
Houston's restaurant scene continues to evolve as both local concepts and national brands invest across the region.
Rather than concentrating solely inside the Loop, many new developments are happening in fast-growing suburban communities like Spring, where population growth continues to drive demand for additional dining options.
If the project moves forward as planned, the new Culver's would add another familiar name to the area's expanding restaurant landscape.
When Could It Open?
Based on the permit timeline, construction is expected to begin this fall and conclude sometime next year. However, because the restaurant has not yet been officially announced, those dates could change depending on approvals, construction progress, or company plans.
Until Culver's confirms the project, residents should consider the location a proposed development rather than a finalized opening.
We'll continue following the project and provide updates if additional information becomes available.
Would You Like to See a Culver's in Spring?
For many Houstonians, another Culver's location would mean easier access to ButterBurgers, frozen custard, and the chain's popular comfort food menu without driving farther across the city.
If the project moves forward, it could become one of the area's newest restaurant additions in 2027.
Would you be excited to see a Culver's open in Spring?
