Biscuit Belly May Be Coming to Katy: What We Know About the Potential New Location

by Katie Day

Katy could soon have a new option for breakfast and brunch — and if the plans move forward, it would bring a growing Southern breakfast chain to one of Houston’s fastest-growing suburbs.

Biscuit Belly appears to be planning a Katy location at Pederson Road Town Center, according to a project registered with the state.

Construction is currently expected to begin in late September, adding another food-and-beverage project to the rapidly developing Katy area.

While the location has not been announced as an official opening by Biscuit Belly, the project plans suggest the restaurant could be on its way.

Biscuit Belly Could Be Expanding Into Katy

For Katy residents, the potential arrival would be notable because Biscuit Belly is not yet widely established across the Houston area.

The chain specializes in Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch, with a menu built around — as the name suggests — biscuits.

Think biscuit sandwiches, breakfast favorites, chicken and waffles, pancakes and other comfort-food staples with a modern twist.

The potential Katy restaurant would be located at Pederson Road Town Center, putting it in an area that continues to see new restaurants, retail and residential development.

For residents in and around Katy, that could make it a convenient addition to the local breakfast scene.

Houston's Second Biscuit Belly Could Be on the Way

The Katy project could also become the second Biscuit Belly location in the Houston area.

The first Houston-area location is planned for The Heights, where a restaurant on White Oak is already listed as "coming soon" on Biscuit Belly's website.

That means the brand appears to be establishing a foothold in the Houston market with locations in two very different parts of the region.

The Heights location would serve Houston's urban core, while a Katy restaurant would give the chain access to the suburbs west of the city — an area known for rapid population growth and a strong demand for new dining options.

Why Katy Continues to Attract New Restaurants

For anyone who lives in Katy, the steady stream of new restaurants probably isn't a surprise.

As the population and residential development in the area continue to expand, national and regional restaurant brands have increasingly looked to Katy for new locations.

The appeal is fairly straightforward: growing neighborhoods, busy commercial corridors and a large customer base looking for restaurants close to home.

Pederson Road Town Center is part of that broader growth story.

A new breakfast concept could also complement the area's existing restaurant mix, particularly for residents looking for something beyond the typical national breakfast chains.

When Could Biscuit Belly Open in Katy?

At this point, it's important to separate construction plans from an official restaurant opening date.

The project registration indicates construction could begin in late September, but that doesn't necessarily mean the restaurant will open immediately afterward.

Build-outs, permitting, inspections, staffing and other factors can all affect the eventual opening timeline.

For now, the takeaway is that a Biscuit Belly location appears to be in the works for Pederson Road Town Center, but residents should wait for the company to officially confirm the Katy restaurant and its opening date.

If the project moves ahead as planned, Katy could soon have another new spot for breakfast, brunch and — most importantly — biscuits.
