Cypress Is Getting Houston’s Only IMAX Dine-In Cinema This November

Moviegoers in Cypress will soon have a new way to experience the latest blockbuster releases. Star Cinema Grill on Fry Road is set to open an IMAX with Laser auditorium on November 18, bringing a large-screen movie experience together with dine-in service and upgraded seating options.

The new auditorium features a 51-foot screen, giving audiences a bigger viewing experience for action movies, science fiction films, and other releases designed for the big screen. With the addition of IMAX with Laser technology, the theater is positioning itself as a destination for movie fans who want more than a standard trip to the cinema.

What to Expect at Star Cinema Grill in Cypress

The upcoming IMAX auditorium is part of a broader lineup of premium features at Star Cinema Grill’s Fry Road location. The theater combines moviegoing with dining, allowing guests to enjoy food and drinks while watching a film.

Several seating options are also part of the experience. Heated recliners provide extra comfort, while massage seating adds another feature for guests looking to relax during a movie. Privacy pods are available across all auditoriums, giving moviegoers additional seating options beyond traditional theater arrangements.

These features could make the location appealing to couples planning a movie night, families looking for an outing, and groups of friends catching a new release.

What Makes IMAX with Laser Different?

IMAX with Laser is designed to deliver a high-quality presentation on a large screen, with laser projection technology supporting sharp images, strong contrast, and vivid colors. Combined with the scale of a 51-foot screen, the format can make visually detailed films feel more immersive.

For movies that emphasize elaborate visuals, expansive landscapes, or large-scale action sequences, the format offers an alternative to watching on a conventional cinema screen. The overall experience will also depend on the film’s format and how it was produced.

A New Moviegoing Option for Cypress Residents

For residents in Cypress and the surrounding northwest Houston communities, the new auditorium adds another option for planning a night out without heading farther into the city. The combination of IMAX projection, dine-in service, and upgraded seating gives the Fry Road theater a distinctive mix of features.

The auditorium is scheduled to open on November 18. Moviegoers interested in attending during opening weekend can check Star Cinema Grill’s official website for showtimes, ticket availability, and any additional opening announcements.

With a 51-foot screen and a range of comfort-focused amenities, the new auditorium is one to watch for local movie fans as its opening date approaches.
