Dave’s Hot Chicken May Be Headed to Humble
Northeast Houston could soon be getting a serious heat upgrade.
According to a newly filed state permit, Dave’s Hot Chicken is planning a potential new location on Woodland Hills Drive in Humble, signaling another expansion move by one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the country. While an opening date hasn’t been announced, the filing is a strong indicator that the popular Nashville-style hot chicken concept is eyeing a spot closer to northeast Houston residents.
Founded in Los Angeles and backed by celebrity investors including Drake, Dave’s Hot Chicken has built a national following for its bold flavors, simple menu, and customizable spice levels—ranging from “No Spice” all the way up to the infamous “Reaper,” which requires a signed waiver. The chain has expanded rapidly across Texas in recent years, with locations already operating in multiple Houston-area neighborhoods.
A Humble location would be a notable addition to the local dining scene, offering residents easier access to the brand’s signature hot chicken sliders, tenders, and sides without the drive toward central Houston. Woodland Hills Drive sits near several residential communities and retail corridors, making it a strategic choice for a high-traffic fast-casual restaurant.
As with all permit filings, plans can still change, but this move reflects continued growth in Humble and the surrounding northeast Houston area—both in population and in demand for well-known dining brands.
For now, Humble locals may want to keep this one on their radar.

If this location moves forward, it could soon be bringing Nashville-style heat a lot closer to home.
