El Tiempo Webster Is Coming Back Under Laurenzo Family Management
Webster diners may not have to wait much longer for their next El Tiempo fajita fix.
El Tiempo Cantina is planning to reopen its Webster location, but this time, the restaurant will be operated directly by the Laurenzo family, the Houston family behind the longtime Tex-Mex restaurant brand.
The announcement comes after the El Tiempo location along the Gulf Freeway abruptly closed at the end of August under its previous franchisee.
While an exact reopening date has not been announced, the Laurenzo family has confirmed that the Webster restaurant is coming back.
El Tiempo Is Returning to Webster
For Bay Area residents who regularly visited the Webster location, the reopening means a familiar Tex-Mex option will soon return to the area.
The restaurant's previous closure came unexpectedly, leaving customers without the nearby El Tiempo location they had come to know. Rather than leaving the space closed permanently, however, the brand's founding family has decided to bring the restaurant back under its own management.
The move also gives the Laurenzo family more direct control over the Webster location as El Tiempo continues its presence across the Houston area.
A Familiar Name in Houston Tex-Mex
El Tiempo Cantina has been part of Houston's restaurant scene for decades. The Laurenzo family opened the original El Tiempo location in Houston in the early 1990s, building the restaurant into a recognizable local Tex-Mex brand known for fajitas, margaritas and its extensive menu.
The brand now has locations throughout the Houston area, making it a familiar name for generations of Houstonians.
That history makes the Webster reopening particularly notable for longtime customers who were disappointed to see the Gulf Freeway location close.
When Will El Tiempo Webster Reopen?
For now, diners will have to wait a little longer.
No official reopening date has been announced yet. The Laurenzo family has confirmed that the Webster location is returning, but additional details about the opening timeline have not been released.
For residents in Webster, League City and surrounding Bay Area communities, the reopening will eventually mean another El Tiempo location within easy reach.
Until then, fans will have to keep an eye out for an official announcement from the restaurant.
