Flower Child May Be Headed to Cypress at Dunham Point, According to New Permit Filing

by Katie Day

Cypress residents may have another popular dining option to look forward to.

According to a recently filed permit, Flower Child is being planned for Dunham Point, the growing mixed-use development in Cypress. While the restaurant is still in the early stages, the filing provides the first indication that the health-focused fast-casual chain could be expanding its footprint in the northwest Houston area.

A $1.3 Million Restaurant Build-Out

The permit outlines a $1.3 million interior build-out for a brand-new Flower Child location. Although that's an exciting sign of future development, diners shouldn't expect to grab a meal there anytime soon.

Construction is currently slated to begin in May 2027, meaning the project is still a long-term addition rather than an imminent opening. As with many commercial developments, timelines may change as the project moves through permitting and construction.

What Is Flower Child?

If you're unfamiliar with the concept, Flower Child is known for its fresh, made-from-scratch menu that focuses on healthy, customizable meals. The restaurant offers a variety of salads, bowls, wraps, proteins, vegetables, and gluten-free and vegetarian options, making it a popular choice for diners looking for lighter fare without sacrificing flavor.

The brand has built a strong following in the Houston area, with existing locations serving neighborhoods across the city. A Cypress location would make the restaurant significantly more accessible for residents in northwest Harris County.

Dunham Point Continues to Grow

The potential addition of Flower Child is another sign of continued investment in Dunham Point, one of Cypress' newest mixed-use developments. The area continues to attract new restaurants, retailers, and businesses as residential growth fuels demand for additional dining and shopping options.

As more people move to Cypress and surrounding communities, developments like Dunham Point are becoming key destinations for both everyday conveniences and new restaurant concepts.

Still Early, but Worth Watching

It's important to note that this project is based on a permit filing and has not yet been officially announced by Flower Child. Permit filings often provide an early glimpse into future developments, but plans can change before construction begins.

Still, a $1.3 million build-out is a substantial investment, making this a project Houston-area food lovers will likely want to keep on their radar over the next few years.

We'll continue following this development and share updates as new information becomes available.
