Grain and Berry May Be Coming to Houston’s Heights

by Katie Day

Houston’s Heights could soon have a new spot for açaí bowls, smoothies and other fresh, fruit-forward options.

A project registered with the State of Texas indicates that Grain and Berry may be planning a new location at Heights Marketplace on West 19th Street. Construction is listed as beginning in October, according to the project filing.

If the plans move forward, the Heights location would mark Grain and Berry’s third location in the Houston area — and its first inside the Loop.

A New Addition to Heights Marketplace

The potential location would join the mix of restaurants, retailers and services at Heights Marketplace, a shopping center along West 19th Street that sits in one of Houston’s increasingly active neighborhoods.

For Heights residents, the addition would offer another option for a quick breakfast, post-workout smoothie or afternoon açaí bowl without having to head outside the Loop.

Grain and Berry is known for its customizable açaí bowls, smoothies and other fruit-based menu items, making the concept a natural fit for a neighborhood with a strong mix of restaurants, coffee shops and wellness-focused businesses.

What We Know So Far

The project filing points to a build-out at Heights Marketplace, with construction slated to begin in October. That said, the project is not necessarily a guarantee that the restaurant will open. Construction timelines and development plans can change, and additional details about the location and opening date have not been confirmed.

If the project stays on schedule, however, Heights residents could have a new Grain and Berry to add to their neighborhood lineup.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the project as more details emerge.
