Houston’s Luxury Housing Market Continues to Thrive—Here’s Where Million-Dollar Homes Are Selling

by Katie Day

If you’ve been wondering whether Houston’s luxury real estate market is slowing down, the latest numbers tell a different story.

In June, Houston’s highest-end neighborhoods continued to see strong demand, with buyers purchasing dozens of homes priced above $1 million. While headlines often focus on national housing trends, Houston’s luxury market continues to carve out its own path, driven by strong local demand, desirable neighborhoods, and the city’s continued growth.

Memorial’s 77024 Leads Houston

The standout performer in June was Houston’s 77024 ZIP code, home to much of the Memorial area.

The neighborhood recorded 66 home sales over $1 million, more than any other ZIP code in the city. Those homes sold for an average price of $2.86 million, reinforcing Memorial’s reputation as one of Houston’s most sought-after luxury markets.

With its large lots, established communities, highly rated schools, and convenient access to major business districts, it’s not difficult to see why buyers continue to prioritize the area.

Other Houston Neighborhoods Making the Top Five

Memorial wasn’t the only area attracting luxury buyers.

Several of Houston’s most recognizable neighborhoods also ranked among the city’s leaders for million-dollar home sales, including:

  • West University

  • Spring Branch

  • The Heights

Each of these communities offers something different—from walkable historic neighborhoods to newly built luxury homes and family-friendly communities—but they all continue to attract buyers willing to invest in premium real estate.

What This Means for Houston Homeowners

Strong luxury sales don't just matter for buyers shopping in the million-dollar range.

High-end transactions often serve as an indicator of confidence in Houston's housing market. Continued activity suggests that demand remains healthy in many of the city's most desirable neighborhoods, even as interest rates and broader economic conditions continue to evolve.

For homeowners, it can also provide valuable insight into local property values and neighborhood trends.

Is Your Neighborhood Seeing the Same Activity?

Houston's real estate market can vary dramatically from one neighborhood to the next. While some areas continue to experience rapid appreciation and strong buyer demand, others may be seeing a more balanced market.

Understanding what's happening in your ZIP code is often more valuable than following national headlines.

If you're curious about what's happening in your neighborhood, leave a comment and we'd be happy to break down the latest local market trends.
