The Galveston Wharves Board unanimously approved the agreement Monday, paving the way for Margaritaville at Sea to become the seventh cruise line operating from the Port of Galveston.

For Houston residents, that could mean another convenient option for a vacation without the hassle of flying to a cruise port in Florida or elsewhere.

When will Margaritaville at Sea start sailing from Galveston?

The cruise line is expected to begin offering weekly sailings from Galveston in October 2027.

There is still plenty we don't know. Margaritaville at Sea has not yet announced the specific ship that will homeport in Galveston or the itineraries it will offer.

Those details are expected to be announced in September, so prospective passengers will have to wait a little longer to find out where the new Galveston cruises will go.
