Meta’s First Texas Store Is Now Open at the Galleria

by Katie Day

Houston shoppers have a new place to try out some of Meta’s latest tech — and you don’t have to buy anything to get hands-on with it.

The Meta Lab at The Galleria is now open on Level Two, marking the first Meta store in Texas and just the ninth Meta Lab in the country.

For Houstonians curious about wearable tech and virtual reality, the biggest draw is the chance to actually test the products in person.

Try Meta’s Smart Glasses and Quest Headsets

The new Meta Lab features several of the company’s most talked-about devices, including Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, Oakley Meta sunglasses and Meta Quest VR headsets.

Rather than simply browsing products behind glass, visitors can try them out through hands-on demonstrations. That means you can get a feel for how the smart glasses work, test out their features and experience Meta’s virtual reality technology before deciding whether it’s something you want to take home.

The smart glasses are part of Meta’s growing push into wearable technology, combining traditional eyewear with features such as cameras, audio and hands-free access to connected technology.

Meanwhile, the Quest headsets offer a very different experience, putting visitors inside virtual and mixed-reality environments.

Why the Houston Location Stands Out

Opening at The Galleria puts Meta’s latest retail concept in one of Houston’s busiest shopping destinations.

It also gives local shoppers an opportunity to experience products that can be difficult to understand from a product page alone. With the Meta Lab’s demos, visitors can see what the technology actually feels like before making a purchase.

And for anyone who has been curious about the Ray-Ban Meta glasses or Meta Quest but hasn't had a chance to try them, the new store offers an easy place to start.

Whether you’re interested in wearable tech, virtual reality or just want to see what all the hype is about, the Meta Lab is now another tech stop to add to your Houston shopping list.

So, Houston: would you try the smart glasses first, or jump straight into the VR headset?
