PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans May Be Coming to Rosenberg

Rosenberg could soon be getting a new coffee option with a distinctly New Orleans flavor.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, the Louisiana-born coffee chain known for its cold brew, specialty lattes and fresh beignets, appears to be planning a new location at Town Center Village on Reading Road. A project has been registered with the state for the site, with construction potentially getting underway as soon as this month.

While the project is still in the development stage, the potential arrival would give Rosenberg residents another spot to grab their morning coffee, meet up with friends or satisfy a craving for a New Orleans-style treat.

A Taste of New Orleans in Rosenberg

Founded in New Orleans in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, PJ’s Coffee has built its brand around small-batch roasted coffee and the flavors and traditions of its hometown. The company says its coffee is made with 100% Arabica beans, while its signature Original Cold Brew is produced using a cold-drip process designed to preserve flavor while reducing acidity.

For those who prefer something beyond a classic cup of coffee, PJ’s menu includes hot and iced lattes, cold brew, frozen drinks and a variety of specialty beverages. Current offerings include options such as Pralines & Cream Lattes, Honey Oat Milk Lattes, Cold Brew Shaken Espresso and its signature Granita.

And then there are the beignets.

The traditional New Orleans pastry—fried until hot and fluffy and finished with powdered sugar—is one of PJ’s signature offerings. The chain recommends pairing its beignets with a Café au Lait, making the combination an especially fitting introduction to the brand.

What We Know About the Rosenberg Project

The proposed location is at Town Center Village on Reading Road in Rosenberg. According to the project information referenced in the original development report, construction could potentially begin this month.

That doesn't necessarily mean the doors will open immediately. Development timelines can change, and projects can move through several stages before a new business welcomes its first customers.

Still, the proposal is worth watching—particularly for residents in Rosenberg and the surrounding Fort Bend County communities.

PJ’s already has a presence in the region. The brand opened a location in Sugar Land in 2023, and its Texas footprint has continued to expand across the state.

A Rosenberg location would give even more Fort Bend residents a chance to try the New Orleans coffee chain without having to travel as far.

If the Rosenberg location follows PJ’s standard menu, customers could expect a mix of coffee, cold beverages, pastries and breakfast items.

The brand's current menu features everything from classic Café au Lait and espresso drinks to iced lattes, cold brew and frozen beverages. Food options include muffins, croissants, scones, breakfast sandwiches and, depending on the location, freshly prepared beignets.

Of course, the exact menu and store details for the Rosenberg location have not been confirmed yet.

For Houston-area coffee fans, though, the prospect is an interesting one. PJ’s offers something a little different from the typical coffee-shop lineup: a brand with deep New Orleans roots and a menu built around both specialty coffee and Southern-inspired flavors.

The potential Rosenberg location comes as the Houston region and its surrounding communities continue to see new restaurants, retailers and food-and-beverage concepts move into growing neighborhoods.
