PopUp Bagels May Be Expanding to Katy With a New LaCenterra Location

Katy residents may soon have an easier way to get their hands on one of the country's fastest-growing bagel brands.

A recently filed project with the State of Texas indicates that PopUp Bagels could be opening a new location at 23501 Cinco Ranch Boulevard in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. According to the filing, construction is expected to begin in August, signaling that the popular bagel concept may already be planning its next Houston-area expansion.

While the company has not officially announced the Katy location, the timing is notable. The filing comes just weeks after PopUp Bagels debuted its first Houston restaurant at CityCentre, introducing locals to its signature "Grip, Rip, and Dip" experience.

Unlike traditional bagel shops, PopUp Bagels focuses on serving warm, freshly baked bagels that are meant to be torn apart by hand and paired with a selection of house-made cream cheese spreads. Rather than building elaborate breakfast sandwiches, the brand keeps the spotlight on the bagels themselves, creating a simple concept that has developed a devoted following across the country.

If the Katy location moves forward, it would bring the brand's distinctive approach to one of the Houston area's busiest retail and dining destinations. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch continues to attract new restaurants and retailers, making it a natural fit for a fast-growing concept like PopUp Bagels.

For residents in Katy and West Houston, a second Houston-area location would also mean skipping the drive into CityCentre to satisfy those fresh-from-the-oven cravings.

As with any project filing, plans can change before construction is completed, and PopUp Bagels has not yet confirmed the new location. However, the state registration suggests that Katy could soon be next in line for the brand's expanding Texas footprint.
