Richmond’s Old Fire Station Is Becoming a New Riverside Restaurant Destination

A longtime Richmond landmark is getting a new life — and this time, the view comes with a menu.

Construction has officially started on Richmond Station, a new restaurant destination at 112 Jackson Street that will transform the city’s old fire station into a riverside dining hub.

The project already has its first restaurant tenant lined up: Pier 36 Seafood and Oyster Bar. A second restaurant space is still available, giving another dining concept the opportunity to join the development.

If construction stays on schedule, Richmond Station is expected to open next spring.

From Fire Station to Riverside Dining

The Richmond Station project is an example of how an existing building can be repurposed into something new while retaining a connection to the area's history.

Rather than sitting empty or being replaced entirely, the former fire station is being redeveloped into a destination designed around food, gathering and the Brazos River.
