solidcore May Be Coming to Sugar Land With a New Strength-Training Studio

by Katie Day

Sugar Land residents may soon have another option for Pilates-inspired strength training closer to home.

A new solidcore studio is planned for Lake Pointe Village along Southwest Freeway, according to a project registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). If completed as scheduled, the studio would give Sugar Land residents a new place to try the popular low-impact strength-training concept without having to drive into Houston.

The project is registered at 15850 Southwest Freeway, Suite 300, inside Lake Pointe Village. TDLR records show a planned 2,060-square-foot commercial renovation with an estimated construction cost of about $489,000. Construction is scheduled to begin December 1, 2026, with completion targeted for February 19, 2027.

An opening date has not been announced, so the February completion date should be viewed as the project's current construction target rather than a confirmed first day of classes.

What Is solidcore?

For anyone unfamiliar with the workout, solidcore is a fitness concept built around high-intensity, low-impact strength training. Its signature classes use Pilates-inspired reformers and controlled movements to create resistance-based workouts.

The company's classes typically focus on slow, deliberate movements rather than traditional cardio. The goal is to challenge the muscles while keeping the workout relatively low impact.

solidcore already has a growing presence across the Houston area, with studios in neighborhoods including Montrose, Rice Village, The Heights and Post Oak, as well as locations in The Woodlands and Katy.

Sugar Land Would Get Another solidcore Option

The proposed Sugar Land studio would also expand solidcore's presence in Fort Bend County.

The company already operates a location in Katy at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, making the Sugar Land project its second known Fort Bend County studio. The Katy location is listed at 2717 Commercial Center Blvd., Suite D130, on solidcore's current studio directory.

For Sugar Land residents, the new location could make the workout more convenient, particularly for people who don't want to make the drive to Houston or Katy for a class.

A New Fitness Addition to Lake Pointe Village

The proposed studio would join an already busy mix of retailers, restaurants and wellness-focused businesses at Lake Pointe Village.

The shopping center's current tenant list includes Whole Foods Market, Orangetheory Fitness, Restore Hyper Wellness + Cryotherapy, The Joint, Massage Heights and Fleet Feet Sports, along with restaurants and other services. Brixmor, the property's owner and operator, currently lists solidcore as a tenant in a roughly 2,400-square-foot space at the center.

That makes the planned studio another addition to the fitness and wellness options available in the area.

When Could solidcore Sugar Land Open?

For now, the project remains in the planning and construction-registration stage.

The TDLR filing lists December 1, 2026 as the scheduled construction start date and February 19, 2027 as the targeted completion date. However, those dates come from the construction filing and do not guarantee when solidcore will begin offering classes.

The company has not yet announced a specific opening date, class schedule or membership pricing for the Sugar Land location.

If the project stays on schedule, though, Sugar Land could have a new solidcore studio ready to welcome members in early 2027.
