Target Is Coming to Texas Heritage Marketplace West of Katy

by Katie Day

A new major retailer is getting ready to open west of Katy, adding another big-name destination to one of the area’s growing commercial corridors.

Target is set to open October 11 at Texas Heritage Marketplace, a large mixed-use development along the Texas Heritage Parkway corridor. The new store will span approximately 148,000 square feet, giving residents in nearby communities another convenient option for shopping, groceries, household essentials, clothing, and more.

A Major New Shopping Destination for the Katy-Fulshear Area

The new Target is part of Texas Heritage Marketplace, a roughly $400 million development designed to bring a wide range of retail, dining, fitness, and other services to the rapidly growing area west of Katy.

The development is already taking shape, with Lowe’s now open and Sam’s Club currently under construction.

Several other major retailers and restaurants are also planned for the center, including:

  • Academy Sports + Outdoors

  • Burlington

  • Spec’s

  • Ulta Beauty

  • Olive Garden

  • EoS Fitness

With this mix of retailers, restaurants, and services, Texas Heritage Marketplace is positioned to become a significant shopping hub for residents who currently have to travel farther for many of these everyday destinations.

Why This Matters for Jordan Ranch and Fulshear Residents

The development is particularly notable for people living in and around Jordan Ranch, Fulshear, and the Texas Heritage Parkway corridor.

The area has experienced substantial residential growth, bringing more households and, in turn, greater demand for nearby shopping, dining, and services. The arrival of major retailers like Target, Lowe’s, and Sam’s Club could give residents more opportunities to take care of everyday errands closer to home.

Instead of making separate trips into Katy or other nearby commercial areas, residents may eventually be able to find many of their regular shopping and dining stops within the same development.

Target Adds Another Major Anchor

Target’s large footprint also adds another major anchor to Texas Heritage Marketplace as the center continues to build out.

At approximately 148,000 square feet, the store will be a substantial addition to the area and will complement the other large-format retailers planned for the development.

As more businesses open, Texas Heritage Marketplace could become an increasingly important commercial destination for communities along the rapidly developing corridor.

For residents in Fulshear, Jordan Ranch, and west Katy, October 11 marks another step in the transformation of the area into a more established retail and dining destination.
