Sugar Land Gets a Taste of H Mart: Here’s What to Expect

Big news for foodies and fans of fresh seafood, snacks, and specialty Asian groceries: H Mart is officially on its way to Sugar Land.
The beloved Korean-American supermarket chain has announced plans for a brand-new 64,000+ sq ft location at 3665 N Highway 6, adding even more flavor to one of Greater Houston’s fastest-growing suburbs.
When Will It Open?
Construction on the $4.45 million project is scheduled to break ground this August, with doors set to open by spring 2026. So if you’ve been making long drives to Bellaire or Katy for your kimchi and Korean barbecue staples, you won’t have to wait too much longer.
What Makes H Mart Special?
If you know, you know — but if you don’t, here’s why H Mart has a loyal fanbase across the U.S.:
- Massive selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, and pantry staples from across Asia.
- A vibrant food court, usually packed with beloved vendors serving everything from dumplings to bubble tea.
- Unique snack aisles stocked with treats you won’t find at typical grocery stores — think spicy ramen, Korean ice creams, and Japanese candies.
- Specialty items for cooking everything from hot pot to Korean BBQ at home.
Why Sugar Land?
Sugar Land continues to grow as one of the region’s most diverse and dynamic suburbs. New residents, growing families, and Houston’s strong Asian community make it a natural fit for H Mart’s next big location.
The new store will also bring new jobs and fresh options for residents of Fort Bend County and surrounding neighborhoods — and likely help local foodies discover even more regional cuisines.
What’s Next?
If construction stays on schedule, H Mart Sugar Land could open its doors in time for spring shopping runs in 2026. Keep an eye out for hiring updates and sneak peeks of the food court lineup in the months ahead.
Who’s Ready to Fill Their Carts?
Are you excited to have an H Mart closer to home? What will be the first thing in your cart — spicy ramen, live seafood, or something from the food court?
