New Caney’s $159M Convention Center Begins to Take Shape at Valley Ranch
Big things are rising in East Montgomery County — literally. Construction has officially gone vertical on the East Montgomery County Convention Center, a $159 million project that’s set to transform New Caney and the surrounding region.
A Landmark for the Region
When it opens in fall 2026, the convention center will span 210,000 square feet, making it the seventh-largest convention center in Texas. The facility will feature:
Expansive meeting rooms and exhibit halls for trade shows, conventions, and community events
Outdoor courtyards designed for social gatherings and cultural programming
An 813-space parking garage to accommodate large crowds
This isn’t just a local amenity — it’s a major regional attraction positioned to draw visitors, conferences, and events that previously bypassed northeast Houston.
Economic Impact
According to projections, the center is expected to generate $1.7 billion in economic impact over the next 30 years, fueling growth in hospitality, retail, dining, and real estate throughout Montgomery County. For New Caney, one of the fastest-growing areas in Greater Houston, the project signals a new chapter as the community evolves into a destination in its own right.
For Houston-area residents, the East Montgomery County Convention Center adds a new option for events and entertainment just a short drive north. It could mean more concerts, expos, cultural festivals, and business conferences happening close to home — without needing to head into Downtown.
And with Valley Ranch already home to shops, dining, and entertainment, the convention center is expected to further anchor the area as a hub of activity.
What’s Next
Construction is underway now, with completion targeted for late 2026. By the time doors open, New Caney could emerge as one of the Greater Houston area’s most dynamic destinations for both business and leisure.
