Ritz-Carlton Eyes a Return to Houston with 44-Story Uptown Tower

A new luxury landmark could soon rise in Uptown Houston. Plans have been filed for a 44-story Ritz-Carlton tower on Post Oak Boulevard — a project that would bring one of the world’s most prestigious hospitality brands back to the Bayou City.
Inside the Plans
If approved and completed, the proposed tower would feature:
- 154-room Ritz-Carlton hotel with signature service and design
- 114 branded residences offering high-rise living with five-star amenities
- 50,000+ square feet of restaurants, lounges, and lifestyle spaces designed to serve both residents and visitors
This wouldn’t just be another luxury high-rise — it would mark the Ritz-Carlton’s return to Houston after decades, and only the third location in Texas, joining Dallas and Austin.
The Post Oak corridor is no stranger to luxury, home to high-end shopping at The Galleria and restaurants from some of Houston’s top chefs. But a Ritz-Carlton presence would elevate Uptown’s status even further, signaling Houston’s continued rise as a global destination for business, tourism, and high-net-worth residents.
City leaders and local developers point out that this type of project could help attract major conventions, international travelers, and luxury retail expansions — all fueling Houston’s reputation as more than just an energy hub.
While plans are still in the works, the project underscores Houston’s momentum in the luxury real estate and hospitality sectors. If the tower breaks ground, it will add a striking new silhouette to Uptown’s skyline and reintroduce Houstonians to Ritz-Carlton’s signature blend of service, style, and exclusivity.
Would you like to see the Ritz-Carlton return to Houston? Do you think Uptown is the right place for it?
